Abstract

This study identifies and assesses the factors associated with construction quality during the execution phase in Can Tho City, Vietnam. A measurement scale was developed based on a literature review and consultation with 20 experts, followed by a questionnaire survey of 195 construction professionals. Data were analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and multiple linear regression. Of the initial 36 observed variables, two were removed during reliability testing and five during EFA, leaving 29 variables grouped into six factors. The regression model explained 70.3% of the variance in the construction-quality assessment score. Based on standardized β coefficients, the factors were ranked as follows: project owner (β = 0.317), design (β = 0.201), construction supervision (β = 0.177), contractor competence and site organization (β = 0.146), contractor quality management and construction compliance (β = 0.135), and construction materials (β = 0.104). At the item level, the professional competence of supervision consultants received the highest mean score (3.54 out of 4). The findings provide an empirical basis for prioritizing construction-quality management measures in Can Tho City.
