Research on the causes of cracks in concrete structures and remedies

Abstract

Concrete cracks are a common phenomenon and seriously affect the durability, load-bearing capacity and watertightness of the structure. This article summarizes the main causes of cracks, classifies cracks, and presents advanced technologies and materials currently used in crack treatment. Solutions include epoxy-based sealants, polyurethane, polymer cement, high-pressure injection technology, reinforcing fibers, and especially self-healing concrete. The article also mentions applicable standards and development trends in crack treatment technology in modern construction.
