Trong bối cảnh đầu tư xây dựng hiện nay tại Việt Nam, việc nhà thầu chính phải ký hợp đồng với các nhà thầu phụ chỉ định (NSC) theo yêu cầu của chủ đầu tư đang trở nên ngày càng phổ biến. Cơ chế này thường xuất phát từ các yêu cầu về kỹ thuật chuyên môn đặc thù, ràng buộc về thương hiệu hoặc xuất xứ thiết bị, cũng như các chủ trương quản lý dự án của chủ đầu tư. Mặc dù việc sử dụng NSC giúp tận dụng năng lực chuyên sâu của các đơn vị có kinh nghiệm, cơ chế này đồng thời làm phát sinh nhiều rủi ro trong quá trình thực hiện dự án, đặc biệt là rủi ro ảnh hưởng đến tiến độ thi công. Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện dựa trên phân tích 106 phiếu khảo sát hợp lệ thu thập từ tổng số 121 bảng khảo sát, kết hợp với ý kiến đánh giá của 11 chuyên gia có kinh nghiệm từ 06 đến 35 năm trong lĩnh vực xây dựng tại Việt Nam. Kết quả nghiên cứu đã xác định được 21 yếu tố rủi ro chính liên quan đến việc sử dụng nhà thầu phụ chỉ định. Trên cơ sở phân tích thống kê và đối chiếu với nhận định của chuyên gia, nghiên cứu tiến hành xếp hạng mức độ tác động của các yếu tố rủi ro này và đề xuất các giải pháp ứng phó cụ thể cho 10 yếu tố được đánh giá là có ảnh hưởng nghiêm trọng nhất đến tiến độ thực hiện dự án.
