Numerical evaluation of the load-bearing capacity of corroded steel beam

Tạ Quốc Việt , Đoàn Tấn Thi , Phạm Văn Phê

Abstract

The study investigates the load-bearing capacity of corroded steel beams at connections and webs using the finite element software Abaqus. Three cases are examined: (i) corroded bolts, (ii) corroded webs, (iii) a combination of corroded bolts and webs. The results show that corroded steel beams experience a significant reduction in load-bearing capacity.
