Organization of transitional spaces in high-rise apartment architecture in Ho Chi Minh city
Abstract
High-rise buildings are an effective solution for high-density urban areas, contributing to cityscape improvement and economic development. However, many apartment complexes lack well-designed transitional spaces, limiting social interaction. These spaces play a crucial role in connectivity, accessibility, and adaptation to the urban environment while also fostering community engagement. Despite their importance, research on the organization of transitional spaces in high-rise apartments in Vietnam remains limited. This study aims to (1) clarify the role of transitional spaces and (2) evaluate their impact on social interaction and quality of life. The findings contribute to sustainable urban development and enhance the living experience in high-rise residential buildings.
