Study on the axial compressive behavior of concrete - filled steel tubular column
Abstract
Concrete – filled steel tubular (CFSST) have been studied and widely used in construction. Many standards have been proposed to caculate the axial compressive capacity of CFST. This paper presents the ressult of axial compressive behavior of concrete – filled steel tubular by numerical simulation and according to AS/NZS 5100.6, AISC, Eurocode 4 and GB 50936-2014 standards. The research results show that, the axial compressive capacity of CFST caculated according to the standards is quite similar to the experimental results. In addition, the obtained results show the similarity between numerical simulation model and experimental results in aspects such as force - strain curve, failure mode. Besides, some parameters affecting axial compressive behavior of CFST such as steel strength, steel tube thickness were also investigated.
